Interactive teleconferencing made possible through the AT&T web conference call solution

AT&T has added an interactive web conferencing feature to their service offerings. It is called the AT&T Web Meeting Service. AT&T is just one of many companies offering web conferencing services, but the AT&T web conference call solution has some unique aspects that you might want to consider.

For starters, AT&T's online meeting service provides web conferencing abilities to facilitate large meetings of up to 200 people per meeting. This ability to facilitate such large web conferences sets it apart from other similar companies. Another positive feature is that AT&T does not charge a set-up fee for the service, and does not charge a fixed monthly fee like so many web meeting services. With AT&T's service, you only pay 23¢ per minute, and only for the exact number of minutes used. Their service can be used and accessed anywhere in the world instantly.

Some of the specific functional features available with the service worth noting are:

  • Desktop Sharing and File Transfer -- Conference participants can share any application that resides on their PC or upload and download files through the file transfer service.

  • Whiteboard -- The whiteboard acts as a public message board, allowing participants to record meeting notes and draw diagrams that can be viewed simultaneously by all or selected participants.

  • Chat features -- Participants can send text messages to all conference participants or privately to a single individual.

  • Polling -- Gives hosts the ability to conduct online surveys.

  • Application Share Control -- Control of the presentation can be shared by the participants allowing for a more interactive experience.

  • Desktop Share Control -- Participants can elect to allow support personnel access to their desktop to facilitate troubleshooting and problem resolution.

  • Record and Playback -- This feature is available to either host or participants, and both the web and audio portion can be played back at any time.

  • Video Display -- Provides the ability to display live images during the meeting.

There are no special hardware or software requirements. The only things needed to instantly access AT&T's web conferencing features are web access and a standard browser. The service works freely across firewalls. In addition, free training is available along with technical assistance 24 hours a day.

The benefits of utilizing online teleconference technology are becoming more apparent each day. Such a simple concept can make for big changes in the bottom line. Reduced costs, reduced travel stress and hassle, and faster decision making are all realized as a direct result of conferencing technology we have access to today through the web.
