Boost your work team's effectiveness by taking advantage of group collaboration software

Collaborative workgroups have become a popular tool in
corporations today to boost work efficiency. While
workgroups can be a very effective means towards meeting
corporate goals, they have to be set up and managed properly
for them to be successful. Several companies in the market
today provide group collaboration software that is designed
to increase collaboration and improve work team
effectiveness. This article focuses on some of the more
popular collaboration software tools available on the market
and some of the benefits they offer.
Work teams are really only effective if team members are
able to communicate freely with each other. Work teams also
must have access to the most up-to-date data. Team
collaboration software is designed to provide all work team
members with an interface to a shared environment where they
can have access to all of the data that is relevant to their
project. Two of the more popular tools for work team
collaboration on the market today are
WebOffice and
Groove
Virtual Office. Let us look at what both of these tools
have to offer and see how they compare.
WebEx WebOffice
WebOffice allows work teams to share documents, manage
schedules, access database information, and host online
meetings. Everything you need to run WebOffice is done over
the Internet, so you do not need to download or install any
software. You can get started using all WebOffice has to
offer for as little as $59.95 per month. It is really a
great no hassle way to keep work teams connected and working
at full efficiency.
PC Magazine recently awarded WebOffice with their
Editor's Choice Award. They rated WebOffice as, "The most
mature and highly polished online collaboration software
I've tested…" They also remarked it was very easy to use and
was highly customizable. One drawback they did note was that
it did not have a built in email feature, but this upgrade
was set to be released sometime this summer. Follow the
following link to read more about this recent and detailed
WebOffice review.
Groove Virtual Office
Another notable
group
collaboration tool on the market is Groove Virtual
Office. Groove Virtual Office provides virtual work teams
with the ability to share files, manage projects and
meetings, and track data all from one central location. To
access Grove, you need to install a software program on your
PC. In addition, all the data relevant to your project and
work team are stored directly on your PC. Groove
automatically synchronizes work group content with your
desktop so that you always have access to the most current
information even if you have to work offline.
Groove is not quite as intuitive as other workgroup
collaboration tools on the market, but once you get the hang
of it, it offers some unique features. Another aspect about
Groove you might find appealing is that you do not need to
pay a monthly fee to maintain access. It costs a one-time
fee of $179 to purchase the software.
PC Magazine also reviewed Groove Virtual Office. They
noted that Groove did lack effective web conferencing
capabilities. However, if used in conjunction with effective
web conferencing software, it provided some powerful group
collaboration features. Follow the following link to read
their entire
review of Groove Virtual Office.
If your job requires team collaboration with others, you
can really benefit from utilizing workgroup collaboration
software. Depending on your specific needs, Web Office and
Groove Virtual Office are two great places to begin your
search.
